  • Type of operation: Malek protocol - lip, nose and soft palate together at 3 months - Sommerlad operation

Bilateral Cleft Lip Repair:

  • Timing: 3 months
  • Type of operation: Malek protocol - lip, nose and soft palate together at 3 months - Sommerlad operation

Cleft Palate Repair:

  • Stages: Two stage
  • 1st Stage Timing: 3 months
  • 1st Stage Type of operation: Malek protocol - lip, nose and soft palate together at 3 months. Cleft palate only - hard and soft palate repair at 3 months if possible otherwise soft only
  • 2nd Stage Timing: 6 months
  • 2nd Stage Type of operation: Hard palate repair
